Committee forwards two Super Bay hangar lease modifications for American and United

The committee voted to forward lease modifications that would extend two Super Bay hangar leases at SFO by two years, increase American Airlines' annual rent to about $7.24 million and maintain United Airlines' current rent.
Dana Volek, representing SFO, presented proposed modifications to Super Bay hangar leases with American Airlines (east side) and United Airlines (west side). The changes would extend both leases by two years after full city approvals. Proposed modification for American would raise annual rent about 4% to $7,240,000; United's rent would remain at $5,563,769 despite a fair-market appraisal that was about 2% lower.
SFO said both leases are currently on month-to-month holdover and the modifications would provide continued space for aircraft maintenance, parking and equipment storage. BLA recommended approval and the committee voted unanimously to forward both items to the Board.
