The committee unanimously forwarded to the full Board an ordinance that would retroactively waive Department of Public Works fees for temporary street‑space occupancy associated with sidewalk sales over three holiday weekends in late November and December 2022.
Dominica Donovan, legislative aide to Supervisor Stephanie, described the ordinance as a small‑business support measure intended to promote shopping local and noted outreach to the Office of Small Business (OEWD) and district merchant councils. Supervisors on the committee said the waiver would help neighborhood commercial corridors such as Clement Street and urged co‑sponsorship.
There were no public comments on the item during the committee hearing. The measure will proceed to the full Board with a positive recommendation.
