Their asks include civic engagement efforts (Vote16 preregistration and a proposed $60,000 for California ID fee waivers for 16–18 year olds), expanded investment in reentry services for youth exiting juvenile justice, mandatory law‑enforcement instruction on youth cognitive development, and renewed emphasis and funding to meet the 2015 TAY (transitional age youth) plan goal of 400 units of permanent supportive housing (188 constructed to date).
Supervisors praised the commission, asked for numerical budget estimates tied to specific asks, and suggested outreach to the Department of Elections, SFUSD and the reentry council to coordinate on implementation and data. The committee took the commission testimony and agreed to call the commission back for follow‑up.
