Committee endorses state AHSC awards for 1950 Mission and 2060 Folsom affordable projects

The Budget and Finance Committee voted to forward two resolutions to the full Board to accept state Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) awards for two Mission District projects.
Amy Chan of the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development described item 2 as authorization to accept $15 million for 1950 Mission — $10 million for housing and $5 million for transit — to support a 100 percent affordable project of 157 units, including 40 units for formerly homeless families, being developed by Bridal Housing and Mission Housing Development Corporation. "The construction of the project is expected to start in December of this year," Chan said.
Item 3 authorizes acceptance and expenditure of $14 million for 2060 Folsom — $9.3 million for housing and $4.7 million for transit — to support a 127‑unit 100 percent affordable project, including 29 units for transitional‑age youth, to be developed by Mission Economic Development Agency and Chinatown Community Development Corporation.
Both awards include funding for community‑serving uses (child care, cafe, bike repair, art studio) and transit improvements such as protected bikeways, pedestrian enhancements and transit passes. Supervisor Feuer noted the site at 1950 Mission was made possible by coordination with the school district. No public comment was offered; committee moved both items with a positive recommendation to the full Board.
