SF supervisors committee forwards two settlement items to full board

SAN FRANCISCO — The Government Audit and Oversight Committee of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors on Sept. 5 voted to forward two items — an ordinance and a resolution — to the full Board with a positive recommendation, including one item to be presented as a committee report.

Committee Chair Supervisor Dean Preston moved to send both items to the Board of Supervisors with a positive recommendation, saying he had reviewed the materials and did not see a need for closed session. "I would like to go ahead and make a motion to send both of these items to the board with positive recommendation, with item 1 being sent as a committee report," Preston said.

Committee clerk Monique Creighton summarized the items before the committee as "1 ordinance and 1 resolution authorizing and approving a settlement of a lawsuit and an unlitigated claim in the amounts ranging between approximately 160,000 to 350,000." The clerk also said items acted on by the committee are expected to appear on the Board of Supervisors agenda of Sept. 17, 2024, and that item 1 will be presented as a committee report at the Board meeting on Sept. 10, 2024.

The clerk called the roll for the motion. Supervisor Connie Chan was recorded as voting "aye," and Chair Preston was recorded as voting "aye." The clerk announced the motion passed and stated a tally of three ayes. There were no members of the public who spoke on the items during the meeting; the clerk had opened public comment and reported none were present.

The committee adjourned after the vote. The forwarded items will next appear on the Board of Supervisors agenda per the clerk's schedule notes.
