The Government Audit and Oversight Committee voted on July 18 to forward items 3 through 7'a set of ordinances and one resolution authorizing and approving settlements in pending and unlitigated claims'to the full Board of Supervisors with a positive recommendation.
The clerk read that the closed-session items covered settlements and unlitigated claims with amounts ranging between approximately $27,500 and $3,400,000. After convening in closed session the committee returned to open session and, on recorded roll calls, approved forwarding the items to the full Board and then voted to withhold disclosure of closed-session deliberations, as permitted under applicable law.
Chair Supervisor Dean Preston moved the forwarding motion; roll-call votes recorded "aye" from Member Engadio, Member Chan and Chair Preston. The committee then made and approved a motion not to disclose the closed-session discussions.
The items will appear before the full Board for final action. The committee did not take public comment on these closed-session items during the closed session; the clerk read that no public speakers signed up for the closed-session items during the open-comment window.
