The Government Audit and Oversight Committee on June 20 moved to forward a package of ten items (Items 2–11) consisting of five ordinances and five resolutions that, as described by the committee clerk, authorize various settlements of lawsuits and unlitigated claims.
Committee Clerk Monique Creighton summarized the package and said the settlement amounts described in the agenda materials and read aloud in committee range approximately from $37,000 to $2,200,000. She noted Item 2 will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors as a committee report at the Board’s June 25, 2024 meeting; Items 3–11 were forwarded to the Board with a positive recommendation.
Chair Dean Preston moved to forward Item 2 as a committee report and Items 3–11 to the Board with a positive recommendation. The clerk recorded votes of Vice Chair Katherine Stephanie and Chair Preston as 'Aye'; the motion passed 2-0 with Supervisor Chan excused. The committee took no public comment on these items.
The items will appear on the Board of Supervisors agenda as indicated by the clerk; the committee record does not provide line-item detail for each settlement in the transcript excerpt, so exact settlement recipients or cause descriptions are noted only in the official committee packet and ordinance/resolution texts.
