Chair Marr reminded the committee that the Board passed the Back to Work ordinance on June 23 by a 10–1 vote; the reenactment temporarily extends the rehiring priority for laid-off workers and exempts small businesses. Marr said the reenactment will provide continuity while a separate ordinance to codify the protection is considered.
