Committee continues ordinances on workforce fund and contractor-selection for further stakeholder review
Summary
The committee continued two administrative-code ordinances: item 5 (establishing a Workforce Education and Recovery Fund) to the call of the chair and item 6 (contractor notification/selection reporting and controller audit) to Sept. 17 at the sponsor's request.
Two proposed ordinances on the committee agenda were continued for further consideration on Sept. 3, 2020.
Chair Marr reported ongoing discussions with City College stakeholders, the Department of Children, Youth and Their Families and other parties about item 5, which would amend the Administrative Code to establish a Workforce Education and Recovery Fund. Chair Marr moved to continue the ordinance to the call of the chair; the committee voted to continue the item (Vice Chair Aaron Peskin excused for the vote).
Agenda item 6, an ordinance amending the Administrative Code to require notification to prequalified contractors and written documentation of contractor selection (and to require the Controller to audit selections), was continued to the Government Audit & Oversight Committee meeting on Sept. 17 at the sponsor's request. The committee recorded no public callers on the item before voting to continue it to Sept. 17.
Clerks recorded the continuations and the items will return to GAO for further consideration and public comment on the new dates.
