Vidka Eisner, CEO of HealthRight 360, introduced the recovery residence program on Treasure Island and said the facility can house up to 72 people for up to 24 months while they transition from residential substance‑use treatment into independent living. Eisner thanked city partners and said the program opened a soft launch in April and reached capacity by September.
Mayor London Breed addressed attendees and praised the program as part of a broader effort to expand mental‑health and substance‑use supports. “72 new beds for the sole purpose of helping to make sure that people are able to get back on their feet with dignity,” Mayor Breed said, and credited supervisors and department partners for collaborating on mental‑health SF efforts and capacity building.
City and nonprofit leaders framed the recovery residence as one component of a continuum of care that includes treatment programs and housing stabilization services. The committee record notes the city’s support and partnerships with organizations such as HealthRight 360 in providing alternatives and supports for people with substance‑use and behavioral health needs.
