Committee backs management agreement for Civic Center Community Benefit District

Chris Corgas, senior program manager at the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, presented a management agreement template for the renewed and expanded Civic Center Community Benefit District and described new contract language added for this renewal. Corgas said the agreement includes language to prohibit using assessment funds to participate in or influence political campaigns and to ensure nonprofit owners’ associations conform to public‑records and open‑meetings requirements in administrative code provisions.
On funding, Corgas told the committee the city anticipates transferring approximately $3,200,000 in assessment funds to the Civic Center CBD in the current fiscal year if the management agreement is approved. “For this contract, the following language has been added: administrative code 12 gs, which prohibits using assessment funds or any other funds provided by the city to participate in support or attempt to influence a political campaign,” Corgas said.
There were no public speakers on the item at committee, and the chair moved to forward the management agreement resolution to the full Board with a positive recommendation.
