SFMTA Seeks Extra Paratransit Funds After Accounting Gap; Committee Accepts Budget Analyst's Reduction

Kristen Major, senior planner, said the omission stemmed from an error when staff requested a one-year extension and miscalculated the additional months and wage increases; the omitted months had already been paid to the contractor but were not included in the contracting authority.
The Budget Analyst recommended reducing the requested increase by about $1,000,003.55 based on updated expenditure calculations. Supervisor Tang moved to accept the Budget Analyst recommendation; the committee approved the motion and sent the amended resolution to the full board with a positive recommendation.
Next step: The amended contract authority will be considered by the full Board of Supervisors.
