The Budget & Finance Committee on Nov. 4 forwarded to the full Board a resolution to accept and expend recent gifts from the General Hospital Foundation to furnish and equip the new Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. Greg Wagner of the Department of Public Health said the capital campaign has raised cash and pledges and that the department was requesting approval to accept the latest $5,000,000 contribution to support patient care and readiness as the hospital nears completion.
Wagner noted the campaign has secured multiple donations and pledged amounts and said the funds will be used for furniture, fixtures, equipment and information technology for the new acute care building. Supervisor Katie Tang thanked donors and moved the resolution forward with a positive recommendation; the committee took the motion without objection.
Quote from the hearing: “We are nearing the completion of our... new San Francisco General Hospital... requesting your approval to accept the latest $5,000,000,” Greg Wagner said.
Next steps: The committee forwarded the resolution to the full Board for action at the Nov. 17 meeting.
