Committee tables proposal to raise AMI limits for some BMR resales

The Land Use & Transportation Committee on Nov. 18 voted to table an ordinance that would increase the qualifying area median income (AMI) level for purchasers of certain below-market-rate (BMR) owned units, require resold BMR units originally sold with parking and amenities to be resold with those same features, and require periodic reporting to the Inclusionary Housing Technical Advisory Committee, the Planning Commission, and the Board of Supervisors on AMI increases.
Chair Mirna Melgar said this was a duplicated file that had been considered at the full Board previously and proposed that the committee file (table) it. After public comment was called (no speakers), the committee voted 3–0 to file the ordinance.
The committee recorded that President Aaron Peskin secured timely amendments at the full Board previously to address stakeholders' concerns; committee staff said the ordinance would be tabled in committee at this time.
