Agenda items 4 through 7 — a set of ordinances and resolutions authorizing settlements against the city and county of San Francisco — were called during the Jan. 17 GAO committee meeting. The committee heard public comment from union representatives urging greater scrutiny of litigation and employment cases and then convened in closed session to consider the settlements.
When the committee returned to open session, Deputy City Attorney John Gibner reported the committee voted unanimously to forward items 4–7 to the full Board with a positive recommendation. The committee then adopted a motion not to disclose the proceedings of the closed session.
The committee adjourned after the closed session vote.
