Supervisor (Christiansen) presented a resolution allowing the Recreation & Park Department to apply for Housing-Related Parks Program funds from the California Department of Housing and Community Development, a formula program tied to low-income housing permits and with bonuses for infill, disadvantaged and park-deficient communities.
He said city planning, the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Rec & Park have identified projects located in disadvantaged and park-deficient communities and requested committee support for applying for up to $3,000,000 in state grant funds. With no public comment, Supervisor Katie Tang moved to forward the item and the committee approved the motion without objection.
