Committee forwards contracts and amendments on transit, data center, leases and more; several items approved as amended
Summary

The Government Audit & Oversight Committee on June 20 handled a broad slate of procurement and contract items and forwarded them to the full Board of Supervisors with recommendations or technical amendments from the Budget and Legislative Analyst’s office.
Key outcomes included:
- SFMTA citation and permit processing (Item 7): Staff said Conduent was the only responsive proposer; BLA recommended removing lockbox services, reducing the five‑plus‑five‑year not‑to‑exceed total from $77.2 million to approximately $74,991,162; the committee adopted the reduction and forwarded the resolution.
- New Flyer contract amendment (Item 8): SFMTA described changing propulsion on 68 buses and adding equipment to support a pilot "green zone" geofencing capability; BLA reported a $14.9 million contract increase and recommended approval as amended; committee forwarded the item.
- Central Subway amendments (Items 9–10): Acting program director Albert Ho apologized for retroactive approvals, described design changes (track profile, lowering Chinatown station) and additional amendments for design/construction support; BLA advised retroactive approval where appropriate and the committee forwarded the items with recommendations.
- Data center renewal (Item 16): The Department of Technology presented a three‑year renewal with the State of California's data center in Rancho Cordova for disaster recovery services; rates are set by the state and the committee forwarded the item.
- Lease and real‑estate items (Items 15 and others): The committee approved a blend‑and‑extend lease amendment for the Department of Child Support Services at 617 Mission/109 New Montgomery with a flat rate and extension options, and forwarded it as recommended by BLA.
In addition the committee handled multiple other amendments and routine contract renewals (Tides/DISH property management, Aramark jail food contract extension, Crestwood mental health contract), forwarding them to the Board with BLA‑recommended technical edits.
