Committee endorses mayoral ballot for Japantown Community Benefit District parcels

The Government Audit & Oversight Committee on June 21 advanced a resolution authorizing the mayor or the mayor's designee to cast assessment ballots for the City and County of San Francisco on three city-owned parcels proposed for the Japantown Community Benefit District.
Chris Korgos, senior program manager at the Office of Economic Workforce Development, told the committee the three parcels include two Japantown Peace Plaza parcels and an MTA-owned parking garage. "Altogether, that would account for 17.48% of assessments or $68,816.76," Korgos said, and offered more detailed property breakdowns to staff.
There was no public comment on the item. Supervisor London Breed joined the committee during item 10. A motion to send item 10 to the full Board with recommendation was moved by 'Supervisor Bridal' (as transcribed); the committee approved it without objection and forwarded the resolution to the full Board.
The resolution will return to the full Board of Supervisors for final action and any ballot casting by the mayor or designee.
