The Government Audit and Oversight Committee met in a special session July 17 and moved into closed session to consider a series of ordinances and resolutions authorizing settlements of lawsuits and approving unlitigated claims against the City and County of San Francisco. Chair Jane Kim presided over the meeting.
Deputy City Attorney John Givner reported after the closed session that the committee voted unanimously to continue agenda items 1, 9, 11 and 14 to the call of the chair. The committee forwarded items 2 through 6, 10 through 13, and 15 to the full Board of Supervisors with a positive recommendation as committee reports, and it forwarded items 7 and 8 to the full Board with positive recommendation as well.
Earlier in the meeting the clerk instructed that items acted upon would appear on the July 25, 2017 Board of Supervisors agenda and reminded attendees of public comment procedures. Chair Kim opened public comment on items 1–15 and reported there were no speakers for those items.
Before concluding the business, the committee addressed whether to disclose the closed-session proceedings. A motion was made and seconded "not to disclose" the proceedings; the chair reported it carried without opposition.
The committee adjourned with no further business. The committee’s formal recommendations will be reflected on the Board of Supervisors’ July 25 agenda.
