The Land Use and Transportation Committee on July 15 voted unanimously to send two related Stonestown measures to the full Board of Supervisors with positive recommendations.
Agenda Item 3 is an ordinance amending the Planning Code and zoning map to establish the Stonestown Mixed Use District, Stonestown Special Use District, Stonestown Mixed Use Height and Bulk District, and Stonestown Special Sign District — with boundaries generally bounded by Eucalyptus Drive and Buckingham Way to the north, Nineteenth Avenue to the east, and Buckingham Way to the south and west. The proposal would abolish an approximately 15‑foot legislative setback on the west side of Nineteenth Avenue between Eucalyptus Drive and Buckingham Way.
Agenda Item 4 is a companion general‑plan amendment to revise the urban‑design, e‑commerce and industry elements, and the land‑use index to reflect the Stonestown development project. Both items adopt CEQA findings, make findings of consistency with the general plan and the Planning Code priority policies, and adopt findings of public convenience, necessity and welfare where applicable.
Committee members and staff said the items were continued from last week and that department staff were on standby to answer questions. The clerk opened public comment and none was offered. Vice Chair Dean Preston moved to send both items as committee reports to the Board; the committee voted 3–0 to recommend approval.
Both measures were agendized as committee reports and may be considered by the Board on 07/16/2024.
