President London Breed and other supervisors asked whether a task force would be duplicative or micromanaging; Yee and supporters responded that the intent is collaborative and to incorporate staffing analyses (including possible consultants) so future budget choices are based on shared evidence. A friendly amendment was accepted to ensure retirees and injury/absentee patterns are included in factors when developing staffing numbers.
The committee adopted the amendments and moved the item to the full Board with a positive committee recommendation (committee report).
