The San Francisco Board of Supervisors Budget and Finance Committee on Wednesday voted to advance a resolution to submit the city's 2014 Continuum of Care grant application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The committee took the motion without objection.
Kevin Sharp, co-chair of the Local Homeless Coordinating Board, told the committee the grant process is a community-driven ranking that prioritizes transitional, permanent supportive and permanent housing projects. He said the ranked list totals about $22,976,355 in funds expected to come to San Francisco and asked the committee to approve both the ranking process and the resolution.
The clerk read the resolution, which was described as seeking up to $27,000,000 and reaffirming the Board's review and approval process for annual or recurring grants of $5,000,000 or more. Sharp told members the city has followed HUD's process consistently and remains in compliance. No members of the public addressed item 1 during the public comment period.
A supervisor moved to approve the resolution and the committee chair recorded that the motion was taken without objection. The clerk noted that items acted upon at the committee will be listed on the Board of Supervisors agenda on 10/21/2014 unless otherwise stated.
