Budget analyst Harvey Rose confirmed the department concurs with the reductions recommended elsewhere in the Board's department budget, and the Clerk identified one-time savings in the current year that could be carried forward to cover the COLA if the committee chooses to approve it. Supervisors asked for clarity on funding sources and the timing; the Clerk recommended continuing the item to next week to permit public comment on June 20 and fuller consideration.
When the committee opened the public-comment period for Item 12, no speakers stepped forward specifically on that item. The chair then took a motion to continue Item 12; the motion was made and taken without objection. The committee will revisit the COLA request after public comment and further analysis.
