The Budget and Finance Committee considered a resolution concurring with the controller's certification that a set of enterprise services can be performed more cost-effectively by private contractors than by civil-service employees.
A controller's office representative explained the certification covers services including citation processing, towing, paratransit services, security and transit shelter services for the MTA and other enterprise departments. Committee members were briefed that the certification is required by the comptroller when departments propose contracted services.
After a brief opportunity for public comment (none were offered on this item), Supervisor London Breed moved the resolution and it was seconded; the committee took the motion forward without objection.
Chair Mark Farrell closed the meeting shortly thereafter.
