A San Francisco committee recommended that the full Board accept and expend state Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3 funds totaling $973,909, with projects to be administered jointly by the Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA) and Public Works.
Staff told the committee the proposed resolution authorizes Public Works and the MTA "to accept and expend a total of, with the amendment, $973,909 in TDA article 3 state grant funds from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in fiscal year 16–17." The MTA proposed using $486,954 for engineering, construction, maintenance and project management of pedestrian and bicycle facility projects, including spot safety treatments on the Vision Zero high‑injury network. Public Works proposed using $243,478 for citywide sidewalk repairs and $243,477 for planning and design of curb ramps at selected sites.
Staff noted the MTC does not require counties to provide local matching funds. With no public comment, the committee agreed to forward the item to the full Board with a committee recommendation.
The Board will consider the item at a subsequent meeting; the committee’s action transmits the recommended acceptance of the state grant.
