Joyce Kimotsuki of the Controller's Office presented a multiyear auditing contract with Macias, Gini & O'Connell (MGO), selected after a competitive bid process; the not‑to‑exceed amount for a possible seven‑year term was described as approximately $9,400,000. "The MGO contract is a multiyear contract... The not to exceed for the possible 7 year contract is approximately $9,400,000," the Controller's representative said.
Human Resources staff described several MOU items. The registered nurses agreement was reported as a $20.3 million item for one year—largely reflecting wages and additional RN staffing needed for state staffing ratios and the new hospital move. Other small agreements (Local 21, SEIU adjustments, supervising RNs) were also presented. The department noted some of the RN staffing increases were required to meet Title 22 and standard-of-care expectations and therefore would have been implemented regardless.
Committee members had no extended public comment and the items were forwarded to the full Board as committee reports and with recommendations.
