Committee recommends accepting grant to upgrade Kezar Triangle irrigation and paths

A retroactive resolution to accept a Parks Alliance donation and Rec & Park in-kind contributions for Kezar (Kezar) Triangle improvements — irrigation, sod, plantings and accessible paths — was moved to the full Board with recommendation after Rec & Park staff said much of the work is already underway.
The committee recommended that the Board accept an expanded grant for landscape improvements at Kezar Triangle in Golden Gate Park and send the item to the full Board with a favorable recommendation.
Madam Clerk identified the item as a resolution retroactively authorizing the Recreation and Park Department to accept an expanded grant (title lists $670,000). Rec & Park—s Lisa Branson clarified the package includes a $650,000 in-kind grant for landscape improvements and about $19,000 in cash to cover a project manager; staff said irrigation work is underway and the site is scheduled to open to the public early next month. Temporary nature-based art installations approved by the Arts Commission were described as a later phase to be installed over the year.
No public comment was offered. A committee member offered a brief motion to move the item to the full Board with recommendation and the committee took it without objection.
