Committee advances airport promotion fund, a city lease and HUD-related consolidated-plan resolutions
Summary

Airport fund (Item 2): Kathy Weidner of the San Francisco Airport requested creation of an airport capital improvement promotion and event fund to collect private donations and underwrite marketing/opening events for major airport capital projects. The budget analyst recommended amending the ordinance to (1) change references to the Legislative Analyst, (2) require annual reporting (rather than quarterly) on revenues and expenditures, and (3) require Board approval for acceptance of private donations of $100,000 or more. The committee approved the item as amended and will forward it to the full Board.
Lease authorization (Item 4): City staff sought retroactive authorization to lease 1995 Evans Street for various departments to use as storage from 08/01/2013 through 12/31/2014 with an initial fixed rate and an option to purchase. Staff described the site as a potential interim storage solution tied to facilities improvement planning; the budget analyst reported estimated city costs of about $1.26 million for the 17-month lease period. The committee moved the item forward.
Consolidated plan goals (Item 5): Brian Chu from the Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development reviewed the five guiding principles for Community Development Block Grant, Emergency Solutions Grant, and HOPWA RFPs and updated members on federal funding uncertainties. The committee moved the resolutions forward without opposition.
The committee closed out the agenda and adjourned.
