Committee forwards Reverb’s Type 90 license application at 2801 Leavenworth to Board with conditions

The Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee on July 25 voted to forward a resolution recommending that the Board of Supervisors approve Tall Door Entertainment LLC’s application for a Type 90 on‑sale general music venue liquor license to operate Reverb at 2801 Leavenworth.

Licensing staff reported zero letters of protest and zero letters of support for the Reverb application, and advised the committee the site is within an area staff identified as higher crime and a high‑concentration census tract. The ALU recommended approval with conditions mirroring those for the earlier agenda item: active monitoring to prevent loitering on adjacent properties, maintenance of adjacent areas free of litter, and two state‑licensed uniform security guards on premises during live entertainment.

Mark Rennie, representing the applicant, introduced co‑owner Eric Villalobos, described the venue as a roughly 400‑person space on the corner of Bay and Leavenworth in the Cannery complex, noted the nearest residence is about 150 yards away, and said the operators had done outreach and expect an EDM crowd that is generally non‑problematic. Supervisor Catherine Stephanie moved that the clerk prepare and forward a resolution to the full Board with a positive recommendation; Supervisor Dorsey voiced support. The committee recorded two ayes with two supervisors excused. The item is scheduled for the Board of Supervisors meeting on Sept. 3, 2024.

The committee’s action forwards a recommendation and attaches staff‑recommended licensing conditions; final license issuance will be determined by the Board and relevant licensing authorities.
