The Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee on July 25 unanimously forwarded a resolution recommending that the Board of Supervisors approve a Type 90 on‑sale general music venue liquor license for SR Visions LLC, doing business as 7 Social, at 65 Post Street.
The committee’s clerk read a PCN report noting zero letters of protest and zero letters of support for the application and recommending approval subject to conditions. An unnamed licensing unit officer told the committee the ALU recommended approval with conditions that include a requirement that “no noise shall be audible beyond the area under the control of the licensee,” active monitoring to prevent loitering on adjacent properties, maintenance of adjacent areas free of litter, and the presence of two uniform security guards licensed by the California Department of Consumer Affairs whenever the premises provide live entertainment.
Mark Rennie, representing SR Visions, described the Post Street space as a first‑floor venue in a historic building near the Crocker Galleria and said his client has operated several successful bars with professional security practices. Rennie asked the committee to send the resolution to the full Board with a positive recommendation. Supervisor Catherine Stephanie moved to prepare and forward the resolution; Supervisor Dorsey voiced support. The committee recorded two ayes and two supervisors excused, and the matter will be heard by the Board of Supervisors on the agenda dated Sept. 3, 2024.
The committee’s recommendation does not itself grant the license; it sends a resolution to the Board of Supervisors with the committee’s positive recommendation and the conditions described. The licensing unit’s conditions remain part of the record and will be available for the full board’s consideration.
