Committee forwards three liquor-license items to the Board with positive recommendations

On July 9 the Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee voted to forward three liquor-license applications to the full Board with positive recommendations.
Officer Froines of the SFPD ABC licensing unit presented PCN reports for each application and described recommended conditions. For Fate Collective (Fate Collective SF LLC), a proposed type 90 on‑sale general music-venue license at 475 Haight Street, Froines said there was one letter of protest (denied by ABC) and no letters of support; Northern Station had no opposition. The alcohol liaison unit recommended approval with conditions including that no noise be audible beyond the licensee's control, adjacent litter abatement responsibilities, and two state-licensed uniform security guards when live entertainment is provided.
For an off‑sale transfer to AEOB's Community Market Corp doing business as Evergreen Market at 3250 Mission Street, the PCN report showed 55 letters of protest and 19 letters of support (including one from a local Latino culture district); Ingleside Station had no opposition. A representative for the applicant said the protest letters appeared to be copied-and-pasted and that the store intends to feature a small alcohol section alongside a full-service meat counter and produce rather than directly compete with nearby liquor stores. The alcohol liaison unit recommended approval with conditions, including permitted hours of sale between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. and monitoring to prevent loitering.
For Tofino Wines Incorporated doing business as Tomorrow's Wine at 340 Balboa Street, Froines reported zero letters of protest and zero letters of support; Richmond Station had no opposition. The applicant described prior operations as Tofino Wines at Geary Masonic and said the owners plan to reopen in the Richmond neighborhood with retail sales and instructional tastings; recommended conditions included signage for tastings and standard monitoring and litter-abatement responsibilities.
Committee members had no substantive objections and moved to forward each item to the full Board as committee reports with positive recommendations and findings that each license would serve the public convenience and necessity. Each motion passed with two ayes and Chair Catherine Stephanie excused. The clerk noted the items will be presented to the Board on the upcoming agenda.
