The Budget and Finance Committee considered Item 7, a resolution to accept and expend a $250,000 grant from the California Cultural and Historic Endowment under the California Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks and Coastal Protection Act of 2002 for the PR70 Union Iron Works Machine Shop Stabilization Project at Pier 70.
Megan Wallace, the Port’s budget manager, said the grant will supplement Port funds necessary to stabilize the historically significant Union Iron Works Machine Shop building and that the Port is preparing to bid the work. "This final item before you is a resolution to accept and expend a grant of $250,000 from the California Cultural Heritage Endowment," Wallace said, adding that the project manager Kathleen Diehapp was present to answer questions.
There was no public comment. The committee moved Item 7 forward to the full Board without opposition.
