Committee to forward $1.54M contract increase for Pier 27 design to Board

The Budget and Finance Committee considered Item 4, a resolution authorizing an amendment to the Port’s design services contract for the Pier 27 James R. Herman Cruise Ship Terminal.
Elaine Forbes told the committee that Kaplan McLaughlin Diaz (KMD) and joint venture partners were selected through a competitive process for design services and that the proposed sixth amendment would increase the contract from about $9,950,000 to approximately $11,490,000 for Phase 2 work. "This contract increase is included in the proposed cruise terminal budget," Forbes said.
Budget analyst Mr. Rose referenced Table 4 and stated the increase is about $1,541,708, found the requested adjustments reasonable and recommended approval. The committee voted without objection to forward the resolution to the full Board for approval under Charter Section 9.118 because the amended contract exceeds the $10,000,000 approval threshold.
