The committee voted unanimously Nov. 8 to recommend an ordinance that amends the Planning Code by repealing Article 12, which contains regulations governing land‑use activities associated with oil and gas exploration, development and processing.
Legislative aide Kelly Gross was present to answer questions; staff said substantive amendments had been made in committee the prior week and the latest changes were technical corrections to CEQA findings and placeholders. After no public callers, Supervisor Aaron Peskin moved the item and the committee took roll call. Peskin, Supervisor Dean Preston and Chair Supervisor Myrna Melgar recorded aye votes and the committee forwarded the ordinance with a positive recommendation. The measure is expected to appear on the Board of Supervisors agenda on Nov. 16.
