Rules Committee confirms several advisory-committee appointments and continues one item to next meeting

At its Nov. 18 meeting the San Francisco Rules Committee confirmed several advisory-committee appointments and took procedural action on a working-group ordinance.
Appointments: The committee reappointed Clinton Loffman and appointed Lynell Soligan to the Citizens Committee on Community Development after each candidate spoke about relevant qualifications. The committee also reappointed multiple members and appointed new members to the Stabilization Fund Community Advisory Committee; the mayor’s office housing and community development director Brian Chu spoke in support of nominees and described several applicants who were unable to remain for the full meeting but had submitted applications and letters of support. The committee included a residency waiver for one appointee as part of the motion. All appointment motions passed without objection.
Continued item: Supervisor Ronan introduced an amendment to the Mental Health SF implementation working group ordinance to revert previously proposed membership reductions and to add a sunset aligned to the ordinance effective date; Deputy City Attorney Brad Rusty advised the amendments are substantive and the committee voted to continue the item to the next Rules Committee meeting for further consideration.
The committee adjourned after completing the agenda.
