Committee approves Budget and Legislative Analyst's 2013 work plan

Mr. Clark read Item 2, a motion to approve the Budget and Legislative Analyst Office's service work plan for 2013. Severn Campbell of the Budget and Legislative Analyst Office presented the plan to the committee.
Campbell described the annual work plan as an allocation of service hours based on how the office actually deployed hours in the prior year. She said the main change for 2013 is a reduction in May budget-review hours because several enterprise departments ' the Public Utilities Commission, the Airport and the Port ' are on two-year budgets, reducing the need for May budget reviews.
"This is, every year, we present an annual work plan that allocates our service hours," Campbell said, and added that the office redirected hours to legislative items, performance audits and policy analysis to handle major items that arose earlier in the year. She said performance measures are attached to the work plan.
There were no public comments and no questions from supervisors. A motion was made and, without objection, the committee passed the Budget and Legislative Analyst work plan for 2013. The committee closed the item and Mr. Clark concluded the agenda.
