Rules Committee recommends five appointments to San Francisco Reentry Council

The Rules Committee recommended five members for the Reentry Council after hearing from 18 applicants who described lived experience, reentry program work, and peer counseling roles.
Chair Safaei moved to appoint Billy Hong Lee to seat 1, Anthony Partee to seat 2, Joanna Pulido to seat 3, Lorenzo Juan Castaneda to seat 4, and to reappoint David Maroff to seat 6. Supervisor Paskin said she favored prioritizing applicants who live in San Francisco County and noted the difficulty of choosing among many qualified candidates with lived experience.
Applicants who spoke included formerly incarcerated individuals, peer counselors, and reentry‑service providers who emphasized housing, employment and culturally responsive services as priorities for reducing recidivism. The motion to recommend the five appointments to the full Board passed without objection.
