The Budget & Finance Subcommittee voted to forward to the full Board a resolution waiving temporary street/sidewalk encroachment fees for designated city streets on two dates in May as part of Small Business Week. Regina Dicondrezi, director of the Office of Small Business, said the sidewalk sale is in its ninth year and 17 merchant associations plan to participate. Dicondrezi thanked the Board for ongoing support of the annual fee waiver and offered to answer questions; the committee moved the item forward without objection.
Committee members described the event as a tradition that supports neighborhood commercial corridors and small merchants, and the item will be placed on the Board’s agenda for final action.
