The Land Use and Transportation Committee voted to forward to the full Board an ordinance designating a Canary Island pine at 2251 Filbert Street as a landmark tree pursuant to the Public Works Code.
Domenica Donovan (legislative aide) outlined the Urban Forestry Council’s prior resolution endorsing the nomination. Owner Patricia Henley spoke by phone, described the tree as more than 80 feet tall and over 100 years old, and said she would maintain and fund its upkeep. No public opposition was registered during the committee’s public-comment period.
Supervisor Peskin moved approval of the committee report and the clerk recorded unanimous 'ayes' from the committee members present. The ordinance will be scheduled for full Board consideration.
