Rules Committee forwards three administrative updates, including emergency contract cost reporting and Form 700 changes

The Rules Committee unanimously recommended three administrative ordinances to the full Board on April 15.
Supervisor Chan introduced an ordinance requiring departments that seek Board approval for emergency repair contracts to provide an estimate of the proposed emergency work cost at authorization and, upon completion, a summary of actual costs and a report-back if final costs exceed estimates. "This will help the Budget and other committees track our budget and understand what we're authorizing," Chan said.
Chan also presented biannual amendments to the campaign and governmental conduct code to update Form 700 filing requirements. The update adds required filers from the Children and Families First Commission and a newly created enhanced infrastructure financing district public-financing authority, streamlines reporting for Proposition Q filers, and corrects minor references for the Public Utilities Commission and Public Works.
Both items were moved, recommended as drafted and passed unanimously by the committee without public opposition. The ordinances will proceed to the full Board.
