Jennifer Johnson, Executive Director of the Civil Service Commission, presented certified prevailing wage rates (survey certified Oct. 1) that the Board is required to fix annually for contractors performing public works, bus service, janitorial, parking, solid‑waste and other services. The certification was based on a survey by the Office of Labor Standards Enforcement and reflected updates required by an administrative‑code change to include fringe benefit data.
The Budget Analyst noted that any increased contract cost to the city depends on future contractor bids and that the proposed resolution is a policy decision for the Board. After brief public comment, the committee moved Item 4 forward with recommendation without objection.
The analyst also summarized differences in reported management fee percentages among garages in related items and highlighted that the Controller has previously recommended review of nonprofit intermediary structures for parking concessions.
