Committee forwards Criminal Restitution Compact funding to support restitution specialist

Maria B. explained the CRC grant supports one staff person who seeks reimbursement from defendants to return funds to the state restitution fund. She said that when a victim receives an eligible relocation payment, the restitution specialist seeks reimbursement by court-ordered restitution payable to the state. Maria B. reported that from October 2011 through June 2012 the restitution specialist obtained $137,785 in court orders for defendants to reimburse the state.
