Theresa Yonge of the Mayor’s Office of Housing told the Budget and Finance Committee that the resolution before the panel would accept and expend $1,500,000 in CalHome state financing from the California Department of Housing and Community Development to assist first-time low-income homebuyers with down-payment assistance and to fund rehabilitation for owner-occupied units.
Yonge described this as the office’s fifth CalHome allocation and said the funding will be used for down-payment assistance and rehabilitation programs for eligible homeowners. There was no budget analyst report on the item; public comment was opened and closed with no speakers.
Supervisor Avalos moved to send the item forward with recommendation; the committee approved the motion without objection. The resolution will be scheduled on the Board of Supervisors agenda.
Next steps: Forward to full Board for adoption and implementation by the Mayor’s Office of Housing.
