Committee approves PUC request to accept DWR grant for Harding Park recycled‑water project

Julie Ortiz, SFPUC water conservation manager, said the project would diversify the city's local water supply and reduce potable water use by building a pipeline along Lake Merced Boulevard, a new underground storage tank and an irrigation pump station. She said total project cost is approximately $7.4 million and funds are available through the SFPUC Water System Improvement Program; no negative fiscal impact to the city was anticipated as matching funds are within the current budget.
The item received no Budget Analyst report; public comment was none and the committee sent item 3 forward with recommendation.
