The Land Use and Transportation Committee voted Dec. 7 to forward a Planning Code amendment that would allow light manufacturing and wholesale storage in specified parcels within the 20th Street/Mission Street neighborhood commercial transit district (NCT). The measure is a technical fix intended to preserve small production, distribution and repair (PDR) businesses that occupy non-street-front spaces in buildings with a long history of PDR activity.
Supervisor Ronan’s office described the change as narrowly targeted and non-substantive; Planning Department staff Veronica Flores said the Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval at its recent hearing. The sponsor circulated two clerical corrections to remove duplicated footnote text and unnecessary underlines in code references; the committee adopted those corrections and voted (3-0) to forward the item to the full Board.
