Rules Committee advances Kent Lim nomination for OCII to full board

The Rules Committee of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors unanimously voted Nov. 6 to send the mayor’s nomination of Kent Lim to the full board for confirmation.
Kent Lim, the nominee, told the committee he has deep ties to San Francisco dating to his family’s arrival in 1963, described a long career in the sheet‑metal trade and contracting, and said he would use his experience to expand contracting opportunities for San Francisco micro‑LBEs and increase local hiring on OCII projects. “My wish is to increase the contracting opportunity for the San Francisco micro LBEs and also increase the local hiring from the community working on these OCII projects,” Lim said.
Committee members expressed appreciation for Lim’s service and experience; with no public commenters, Chair Matt Dorsey moved to amend the motion to remove the word “reject” throughout the legislation and recommend the nomination to the full board. Vice Chair Shamann Walton and Supervisor Asha Safaei voted in favor; the motion passed unanimously.
The nomination will now appear on the full Board of Supervisors agenda for further consideration.
