The San Francisco Public Safety & Neighborhood Services Committee on Sept. 23 voted unanimously to recommend that the full Board of Supervisors approve the transfer of a Type 48 on-sale general public premises liquor license to Presidio Cocktail Corporation, which plans to operate at 907 Post Street.
Officer Salmonson of the San Francisco Police Department's ABC liaison unit told the committee that the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ALU) review found three letters of protest and no letters of support, and that the location sits in a plot and census tract the city identifies as high-crime and high-saturation. "Central Station has no opposition and ALU approves with the following conditions," Salmonson said, listing two conditions: the petitioner must actively monitor the area under their control to prevent loitering on adjacent property depicted on the ABC-253 form, and "no noise shall be audible at any nearby residence." Salmonson said he had spoken with Greg Lindgren and that Lindgren agreed to those conditions.
Applicant representative John Gasparini described the owners' restaurant and bar experience going back to 1998 and said the applicants have "a very strong track record of no infractions or violations" and good relations with neighbors and SFPD. "We are sensitive to [neighborhood] concerns ... and we're happy and willing to try to assuage any concerns," Gasparini said.
One caller, Armando Herman, opposed the application during public comment. The committee then adopted a motion by Chair Supervisor Gordon Marr, seconded by Vice Chair Katherine Stephanie, directing the clerk to prepare a resolution finding that the license will serve the public convenience and necessity and to forward the resolution to the Board of Supervisors with a positive recommendation. The committee vote was 3-0 (Stephanie: aye; Haney: aye; Marr: aye).
Next steps: the clerk will prepare and transmit the resolution to the Board of Supervisors for final consideration.
