Committee backs two liquor‑license transfers in Mission and San Bruno Avenue

The Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee voted Sept. 9 to send two liquor‑license transfer resolutions to the full Board of Supervisors with positive recommendations.

Chair Gordon Marr moved the committee recommendation after SFPD and applicants described operational safeguards for both premises. For Teatro Tin Tan (Vigote de Gato Arts and Music Incorporated at 2519–2521 Mission), Officer Salmonson told the committee the Mission Station had “no opposition” and recommended approval with conditions including active monitoring to prevent loitering and that “no noise shall be audible at any nearby residence.” Krista Garitano, representing applicant Nicolette Beck, said the theater is a nonprofit community venue that would limit alcohol sales to two hours before, during and one hour after performances.

For La Loma Produce No. 7 (2695 San Bruno Ave.), Salmonson reported one letter of protest but no letters of support; he said the applicant agreed to similar loitering‑prevention conditions. Augustine Martinez, the applicant, told supervisors the store had long received customer requests for a liquor license and expected modest business growth and a small number of additional jobs.

Both motions passed on roll calls with Supervisor Catherine Stephanie, Supervisor Matt Haney and Chair Marr voting aye; clerks recorded three ayes on each item. The committee directed the clerk to prepare resolutions finding that the transfers would serve the public convenience and necessity and forward them to the Board of Supervisors for final consideration Sept. 21, 2021.

The committee’s actions are recommendations only; final approvals rest with the full Board and any state licensing processes required by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
