Committee directs three audits for FY2010–11; second audit narrowed to standby and lead-worker pay

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors' Government Audits & Oversight Committee on Oct. 28 directed the Budget & Legislative Analyst to carry out three audits in fiscal year 2010–11 and set priorities for the work. The committee advanced the motion without a recorded roll-call vote.
Severin Campbell of the Budget & Legislative Analyst's office told the committee the motion reflects prior discussions and follow-up with the Controller's Office and the Department of Human Resources. "We did agree to have a narrower scope, for this particular project at this time, looking specifically at the city's implementation of standby pay and lead worker pay citywide," Campbell said.
Chair Eric Marr opened the item for public comment; none was offered. A committee member moved the item forward on the record and Chair Marr stated it would be sent on the board agenda with recommendation "without objection." The committee did not record a formal roll-call vote in the hearing transcript.
The committee indicated the audits will return under the Board's process for scheduling and that items acted upon would appear on the Nov. 9 Board of Supervisors agenda unless otherwise noted. No dates or staffing allocations for the audits were provided on the record.
