The committee considered reenacting emergency Ordinance 84‑20, which establishes protections for occupants of residential hotels during the COVID‑19 pandemic. Chair Supervisor Aaron Peskin thanked former Supervisor Katie Tang for work on amendments and said Dr. Stephanie Cohen (Department of Public Health liaison) would reach out to three SRO collaboratives to see what can be implemented.
Theresa Flandrich of Disability Action called in to express “absolute support” for the ordinance and thanked the supervisors for pursuing the measure. After public comment, Supervisor Peskin moved to continue the item for one week to allow the outreach identified by Dr. Cohen; the motion passed by roll call (Preston, Safaei, Peskin voting aye).
